Two weeks after his death, his fans decided to commemorate him by making May 25th, Towel Day, and it turns out Lemon.ly’s designer, Ana, is one of those fans. The researchers say that losing yourself in a work of fiction has the potential to make your behavior, emotions, thoughts, and beliefs shift so that they match those of the character you love. The researchers call this “experience-taking,” and while they aren’t sure if the shifts are long-lasting or just temporary, they suspect that reading novels can ultimately be “life-changing.”
